History

The term “wine” originates from the Sanskrit word “venas” meaning “to love”. For centuries, Italians have had an on-going love affair with vino and, with more than 2,000 grape varieties, Italy produces more wine than any other country. Italy’s warm Mediterranean climate and rich soils make it the perfect place to produce wine. In fact, the Ancient Greeks called it Enotria, land of wine, and every region has its own wine history and art of wine making.
