This experience will take place in a historic 19th-century building in Sicily, where ancient jewellery techniques have been passed down from generation to generation. Your jewellery-making holiday begins with a visit to the laboratory, where you can admire the craftsmanship that goes into making unique jewellery. Participants will then create their own pieces of art with the support of expert craftsmen who can transform any idea into a precious masterpiece.
Following a brief introduction on how a jewel is created, your knowledge of gemology will be further deepened by a talk on the characteristics of diamonds, presented by professors recognized by the International Gemological Institute (IGI). Each student will have access to a microscope allowing them to analyze various precious stones. This detailed study will also include pearls and coral, during which the necessary cognitive tools will be provided to recognize, classify and understand the complex world of natural and cultivated pearls as well as Mediterranean coral. At the end of this recreational experience, a tour of the company will conclude with lunch where Sicilian wine and recipes will be on the menu. You will have the opportunity to mingle with the owners of the company who will share their passion for ancient craftsmanship and keeping the traditional goldsmithing techniques of their ancestors alive.
