The Travel: Florence, like many other Italian cities, still retains the charm given to it by a past rich in art and civilisation. It is no coincidence that tourists flock from all over, attracted by the desire to experience the delights that the centuries-old history of Florence has brought to the world. Certainly, Florence owes its greatness to the skilled artisans of art, culture, and commerce. Among the latter, a small group of skilled shopkeepers played a key role in the city’s success. To them, we would like to dedicate this incredible retreat, where you will approach the most interesting “botteghe” traveling the most fascinating path to becoming a fashion designer with our expert!
How it works: If you wish to make the customised shoe of your dreams, send us a photo, choose the materials and we will confirm the cost. Sign up for the holiday at least one month in advance and, once in Florence, you will make your shoe together with the craftsman in a 10-hour workshop. After the workshop, the craftsman will finish making your model and send the shoes to your home.
The stay: In a historic central location
The Learn: You will learn how to use your hands and appreciate the importance of dexterity and time. When you create an object from scratch, using raw materials, your hands and creativity, you understand that quality can only be obtained with time and attention to detail. You will value objects based on their quality.
The retreat focuses on learning how to make bespoke shoes. You will understand the importance of using quality materials to create unique, quality products that cannot be reproduced, which nowadays seems impossible! You will spend time designing and crafting your own pair of shoes. The shoe will then be finished by the craftsman and shipped to your home.
