Jewellery Making Course in Florence

Where metal becomes form, detail, and identity

A course rooted in the Florentine goldsmith tradition — where craftsmanship, art, and design come together.

Guided by master artisans, you will learn how to design and create fine jewellery, exploring both traditional techniques and contemporary approaches within a professional atelier.

The Course

From Concept to Creation.

This course offers a complete introduction to jewellery making — from initial idea to finished piece.

Through a highly personalised approach, you will develop technical skills while exploring your own creative direction. Whether you are starting from scratch or refining your practice, the course adapts to your level and goals.

Working in a Florentine workshop, you will experience jewellery not only as an object, but as a discipline that combines precision, material knowledge, and artistic vision.

The art behind the technique

Florence has been one of the most important centres of goldsmithing since the Renaissance.

From the 16th century onwards, goldsmiths were deeply connected to the arts — often trained in painting and sculpture. Artists such as Andrea del Verrocchio and Antonio del Pollaiolo were both painters and goldsmiths, reflecting the close relationship between disciplines.

Among the most influential figures is Benvenuto Cellini, whose treatise remains a key reference for techniques such as engraving, stone setting, and metalworking.

Today, Italy continues to be a global leader in jewellery craftsmanship, with historic districts such as Valenza, Vicenza, Arezzo, and Florence preserving and evolving this tradition.
