Overview
This immersive retreat invites you to explore engraving and fine art printmaking while discovering one of Italy’s most inspiring Renaissance landscapes.
Over five days, you will move from observation to creation: sketching the countryside en plein air, translating your drawings into engraved prints using traditional intaglio techniques, and completing a personal artist book through typography and artisan bookbinding.
The experience culminates in a handmade travel journal combining drawings, notes, and your own original engraving — a tangible memory of your creative journey through art, landscape, and craft.
Immersive Learning Experience
All Creative Italy retreats are immersive creative journeys. This experience invites you to slow down, reconnect with your hands, and rediscover the pleasure of making something truly personal. Alongside studio work, you’ll explore the surrounding territory, connect with local artists, and join a guided landscape walk with a geomorphologist — discovering how this terrain inspired masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Piero della Francesca.

A Tailored Retreat for Your Creative Journey
This retreat is designed for individual participants or very small groups, allowing for close guidance throughout the process.
Whether you are new to engraving or already familiar with drawing and printmaking, the programme adapts to your level. You’ll receive personalised support in sketching, plate preparation, etching, and printing, as well as during the final bookbinding stage — helping you develop both technical confidence and your own visual language
