You will taste ancient recipes, meet artisans and learn centuries-old traditions. Ancona was founded by the Greeks, with the name coming from the word for “ Elbow.” Ancona is the perfect place to stay, learn, and enrich yourself with our professional textile and embroidery course.
The stay: You can choose to stay in a beautiful property with your family and friends, immersed in the nature and greenery of Marche. Alternatively, stay in a hotel in the centre of Ancona, surrounded by ancient history.
The Learn: You will learn how to use your hands and appreciate the importance of skill and time. When creating something from scratch – using the raw materials, your hands and creativity –you will understand that quality can only be obtained with time and attention to detail. Satisfaction will be gained by valuing the quality of the art produced.
The retreat occurs at a textile workshop, where furnishing and utility artefacts are designed and made through creative repurposing.
During the course, a selection of handicrafts will be presented to choose from, which can inspire the choice of textile object to be made.
You will choose the fabrics and recycled materials for your artefact. Fragments of lace and antique embroidery will be available. Sewing machines can be used for assembly. You will be able to use traditional Italian embroidery stitches and learn about the final phase of construction.
