Artistic Glass Course in Perugia
Where light becomes colour and glass becomes expression
A course dedicated to the art of stained glass — where drawing, colour, and light come together to create luminous compositions.
Set within a historic workshop, this course invites you to explore an art form where craftsmanship and artistic vision merge.
The Course
Painting with Light.
This course introduces you to the creation of artistic stained glass, guiding you through each stage — from the first sketch to the final assembled panel.
You will learn how to design, cut, and assemble glass, understanding how colour and light interact to create depth and atmosphere.
Depending on the chosen program, you will explore both traditional leaded glass techniques and decorative approaches such as painted glass and Tiffany assembly.
Working in an authentic workshop environment, you will create your own glass piece — a composition shaped by both technical knowledge and personal creativity.
The art behind the technique
Stained glass is a unique artistic language, where colour only fully exists through light.
Unlike other mediums, glass is not simply seen — it is illuminated, transformed throughout the day by natural light.
Rooted in centuries of European artistic tradition, this craft combines drawing, painting, and construction. Each piece is composed through the careful selection of glass, the precision of cutting, and the balance between structure and image.
In this discipline, the lead structure is not only functional, but part of the design — integrating line, form, and composition into a single visual expression.

Beyond technique: the artisan mindset
Working with glass requires precision and sensitivity.
Each cut is definitive, each choice of colour influences the final result through light.
You learn to think in transparency — to anticipate how the material will react, how light will pass through it, and how composition evolves over time.
It is not only about assembling pieces, but about creating an artwork that lives through light.
